There’s just something about late fall that makes an engagement session feel extra cozy. Maybe it’s the crisp air, the golden tones, or the way couples naturally pull each other close when the wind kicks up. Lauren and Nick’s Gifford Pinchot engagement session had all of that—plus a whole lot of laughter, exploring, and that easy kind of love that doesn’t need to be posed.
How They Met: A Blind Date That Actually Worked
Lauren and Nick first met on a blind double date, set up by college friends. No pressure, no expectations—just two people going with the flow. But clearly, something clicked. Now they’re planning their September wedding at The Imperial Ballroom in Lancaster, PA, and I already know it’s going to be such a good day.
From the moment we met up for their engagement session, it was obvious these two just get each other. No awkwardness, no forced smiles—just two people who feel at home together. My favorite kind of session.
A Laid-Back Afternoon at Gifford Pinchot
Lauren and Nick chose Gifford Pinchot State Park for their engagement photos, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Quiet trails, tall trees, and a peaceful lake gave us the space to slow down and soak it all in. We wandered along the shoreline, chased the last bits of fall color, and leaned into the calm.
Some of my favorite images from this Gifford Pinchot engagement session were the in-between moments—the way Lauren laughed when Nick whispered something ridiculous in her ear, or how he instinctively pulled her in closer when the wind started to blow. That’s always what I want to deliver: photos that don’t just show how it looked—but how it felt.
Looking Ahead to Their Wedding Day
Their venue, The Imperial Ballroom, is such a great fit—classic and elegant without feeling too formal. Just like Lauren and Nick. I can already picture their day: the quiet vows, the happy tears, the dance floor chaos, and all the little in-between moments that make it real.
September can’t come soon enough.
